Celebrating Global Handwashing Day: CIVS Kenya's Impact on Water and Sanitation

Otieno Project 1 min read

Hand hygiene is one of the most effective, affordable ways to prevent disease — and it is central to our WASH work.

Global Handwashing Day is an annual global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases and save lives. It is a reminder of the critical role hand hygiene plays in promoting public health and reducing the spread of infectious diseases.

For years, CIVS Kenya has worked to improve access to safe water and sanitation in underserved communities across Kenya. Our projects include rainwater harvesting systems, eco-friendly toilets, and solar-powered water pumps — bringing sustainable solutions where they are needed most.

Through community training programs, we empower locals to adopt better hygiene practices, transforming lives and health outcomes one household at a time.
