Zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for child abuse, exploitation or neglect of any kind by anyone associated with our work.
The safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority — without exception.
Our commitment
CIVS Kenya works closely with orphans and vulnerable children, and we take our duty of care seriously. We are committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment in which children are protected from all forms of abuse, exploitation, neglect and harm. Every staff member, volunteer and partner is bound by this policy.
How we safeguard
In line with international safeguarding standards, CIVS Kenya commits to:
We have zero tolerance for child abuse, exploitation or neglect of any kind by anyone associated with our work.
All staff and volunteers are screened, briefed on this policy and sign a code of conduct before working with children.
In every decision and program, the best interests and dignity of the child come first.
We train our team and volunteers to recognise, prevent and respond appropriately to child protection concerns.
We protect children's identities, obtain consent before taking or sharing photos, and handle their information confidentially.
We investigate all concerns promptly, fairly and confidentially, and cooperate fully with relevant authorities.
Speak up, in confidence
If you have a child protection concern — whether you are a volunteer, partner, community member or visitor — please report it immediately. All reports are treated seriously, confidentially and without delay. You can raise a concern through any of the channels below, or in person with any CIVS coordinator.
